IN COSMETICA

Guarana extract, rich in tannins, vitamins and minerals, is known for its slimming and astringent, toning and anti-aging properties.
Given its lipolytic and thermogenic potential, guarana is also one of the most effective ingredients in topical preparations as an adjuvant in the treatment of cellulite and localized adiposity.

GENERAL INFO, HISTORICAL NOTES, CURIOSITIES

Guarana seeds are derived from the fruits of the evergreen climbing plant (Paullinia cupana) native to the Amazon rainforest. When the fruits are ripe, they open thus making the internal seeds visible. The typical processing of this arboreal part involves: the collection, shredding and integration of water in order to obtain a pasta which, dried in the form of rolls, is then marketed.
The discovery of guarana dates back to around 1600, attributed to the botanist Paulli who told of a tribe of Indios who cultivated a small fruit and prepared an energy drink from it.
The word "guarana" has a specific meaning in some dialects of the indigenous Amazonian peoples. The term is translated with the Anglo-Saxon "vine" or vine.
