Hyaluronic acid is a component already naturally present in the human body, especially in the skin, but also in the cartilage of the joints, in the fluids of the eyes and in the bones.
Its main function is to hydrate the tissues and increase their resistance by restoring structure and body.
Also known as hyaluronan , the hyaluronic acid was discovered in 1930, starting a revolution in the cosmetic field.
Thanks to its ability to stimulate the formation of collagen, a fundamental substance for the maintenance of a young skin, it was even called "source of youth" and thanks to the possibility of being synthesized in the laboratory, it soon assumed a position of dominance as a fundamental compound in anti-age treatments.
The appearance of hyaluronic acid is that of a transparent gel: it looks like this when its molecules come into contact with water.
Its name comes from the Greek "hyalos", that is "glass", just to emphasize this structure.
