It also has healing and soothing properties that make it indispensable in case of small burns, contusions, joint and muscle pain.
It also has a good UV shielding action that gives it the property of light solar filter, thus protecting the skin from the aggression of harmful radiation.

GENERAL INFO, HISTORICAL BACKGROUND, FUN FACT

Shea butter is a natural substance extracted from the seeds of an African tree also called Butyrospermun Parkii in honor of its discoverer Mungo Park, a Scottish explorer of the late eighteenth century, whose in one of his many trips along the Niger Rive, discovered properties and uses of the shea butter from indigenous people.
The African populations use shea butter since remote times, so much that the tree from which they extract this butter is called "tree of health and youth" just for the beneficial properties of its nuts.
Mostly African women are involved in the extraction and processing of this substance through a long process. It takes about 20 hours to get 1 kilogram of butter.
