But the virtues of Witch Hazel do not end here because among its most important functions is that of being vaso-repairing, facilitating venous circulation and microcirculation.

GENERAL INFO, HISTORICAL NOTES, CURIOSITIES

Witch hazel is a plant belonging to the Hamamelidaceae family, native to the eastern regions of the United States and Canada.
It was only introduced to Europe during the 18th century as an ornamental plant, while the discovery of its medicinal capabilities is very recent. It was not until the early 1900s that it began to be used therapeutically for its remarkable astringent and haemostatic properties.
According to the Native Americans, this plant was considered magical, so much so that they gave it the name Witch-hazel, which means 'witch-hazel', and in the United States witch hazel water is still called by this name today.
