IN COSMETIC

Thanks to the high content of vitamin C, beta carotene, flavonoids and other essential amino acids, papaya has an anti-aging action, fights skin blemishes, is an excellent exfoliant and acts as an adjuvant for the treatment of acne. Thanks also to the presence of enzymes, papaya is an excellent ally to combat injuries and redness: it acts on wounds and burns, accelerating healing times.

GENERAL INFO, HISTORICAL BACKGROUND, FUN FACT

Papaya is a plant native to tropical and subtropical America. Like almost all the plants of these areas, it has an imposing tree very similar to the palm that can reach 10 meters in height.
Even the fruits are proportionate to its size and often exceed five kilos in weight.
In the sixteenth century. the Spanish explorers brought the seeds (dried they survive years) first to the Caribbean then to the Philippines. From there they passed to India, the islands of the South Pacific and Africa.
Today, papaya grows in all the warm tropical regions of the world.
The Maya called the papaya plant the "tree of life".
