Amino acids represent the building blocks of all proteins, including abundant fibrous proteins in the skin.
By promoting collagen synthesis in the first place, amino acids help to keep the skin toned, supple and firm. They also reduce inflammation, provide us with antioxidant protection, repair and minimize signs of age, moisturize and plump and are necessary for the synthesis of keratin, essential protein for hair and nails.
The first amino acid was discovered in 1806, inside the asparagus and was called asparagine.
